A comprehensive, biblically integrated curriculum as the foundation of our PK–8 academic program.
Students receive grade-level instruction in reading, phonics, language arts, math, science, history, and other core subjects, while our multi-age Learning Labs create opportunities for students to investigate, discuss, create, collaborate, and learn together.
Our approach is built around a simple philosophy:

Beyond the core curriculum, Lighthouse enriches learning through curated literature, hands-on projects, enrichment, Chapel, and meaningful Christian community—creating an educational experience that is both academically strong and intentionally Christ-centered.

K - 8th Grade
Science
Students explore life, earth, and physical science through a biblical worldview using observation, investigation, hands-on activities, experiments, models, and scientific reasoning.
Reading + Phonics + Writing
Students build strong foundations in phonics, fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, handwriting, and written communication; with instruction progressing appropriately from Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Math
Students develop strong computational skills, conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving through grade-level instruction, hands-on practice, and real-world application.
Bible
Bible instruction helps students develop biblical knowledge, understand God’s Word, grow in Christlike character, and learn to apply biblical truth to their everyday lives.
Literature
BJU’s reading program is enriched with carefully selected literature, including classics, historical fiction, biographies, poetry, and age-appropriate works chosen to cultivate character, curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of reading.
History
Students explore history, geography, culture, government, and citizenship while learning to examine people, events, and ideas through a biblical worldview.
